“It’s a game changer now,” said Dr. Don Goodeve, organizer of Extinction Rebellion Vancouver Island.

Long-standing environmental activist David Suzuki made a blistering statement at the weekend about what might happen if leaders and global leaders fail to act to reverse climate change.

“We’re in deep, deep doo-doo,” Suzuki said Saturday in a protest against the eradication, held on the island of Vancouver.

Suzuki’s warning has not been without credibility.

The event, called Funeral for the Future in Victoria, followed the extreme weather experienced in British Columbia last week which killed a handful of people and caused huge damage to British Columbia’s government infrastructure.

Protesters demanded the government of British Columbia declare a “climate emergency” to end investment in pipelines and other fossil-fuel infrastructure.
