Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called yesterday for world leaders to take urgent “bold and stronger measures” to tackle the global emergency with an “whole-of-the-world approach” to deliver a future with sustainability for its next generations.

The advanced countries “promises to provide $100 billion a year in financing for more than a decade, seen as key to the forthcoming climate talks, are barely achievable five years from their goal, a new report has revealed.

Based on a recent IPCC report, the prime minister said the report had drawn a bleak picture of the future and showed global temperature could climb above 1.5 degrees C.
