The Queen has criticised leaders ‘inaction in tackling the climate change crisis, saying that she is ‘irritated’ at people who ‘talk but don’t do’.

Speaking at the opening of the seventh sitting of the Welsh Parliament in Cardiff, the Queen said: ‘I’ve been hearing all about COP [and we] still don’t know who is coming – no idea.

The royals have spoken honestly in recent weeks about the challenge of climate change and Prince William has also complained of billionaires hovering in space travel, rather than the planet they live on.

The heir to the throne said he understood the frustration of young people that politicians ‘only talk about global warming ‘rather than tackle it.
