High pressure weather is expected to bring the weekend to a mild close in San Diego County on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
There were heaps of snow around Southern, Middle and seaboard states, with the highest figures as of 5: 30 p.m. from Acton (6 inches), Rangeley (5 inches), East Baldwin (5.6 inches) and Portland (4.8 inches), the NWS in Gray reported.
Rain and snow were expected to hit higher ground on Wednesday, the meteorologists said.
Partial daylight is expected in Maine over the afternoon with temperatures expected to nearly zero degrees in the north and further east into the low 20s oncountry.
Precipitation of 1-3 inches was expected across the county through late Friday, NWS officials said.
The cold weather is set to continue through the end of the week, giving White Christmas to the state.
