Bill Gates wants governments-and investors alike-to find ways to cut emissions from steel and cement manufacturing.

At the moment, there is no way to produce steel and cement without emitting harmfulness to the climate.

But neither governments nor investors would seriously tackle that problem, Gates told Reuters.

‘That is the sector I’ m most concerned about,’ Gates said in a video interview with Reuters ahead of the release of his book ‘How to Avoid a Climate Disaster.’ this week.

The software engineer and philanthropy has invested about $2 billion in creating clean technologies.

Yet this investment relates to power generation and storage, not production.

In his book Gates writes that after years of rejection of calls to end the fossil fuel industry by 2019, the former United States President is selling his direct stakes in oil and gas companies.
