New Delhi, Aug 29 (IANS)– International filmmaker Nila Madhab Panda’s brilliant new work,”Kalira Atita” looks at the past and focuses on rising sea levels and warming caused by climate change.
This film tells the story of Saatbhaya, a collection of seven villages in the coastal region of Odisha which have been consumed by the rising sea.
The latest progress report of IPCC working group I, among others, warns of threats to coastal regions posed by sea level rise.
Question: What is the purpose of making this film in the language of Odia?
I’ve followed him around for 13 years.
What was it that inspired the movie, did the medium actually show the flood of seven villages on a film screen or did you think that a feature film would be more effective in conveying its message to the masses?
