In a continuation of the devastating impacts of climate change, which has overwhelmingly affected food supplies, Actionaid Nigeria said Friday that it had advised residents of Dakwa Township in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) from felling watercress and indiscriminate bushfires.

AAN Country Director Ene Obi made the announcement to mark International Rural Women’s Day, and the launch of the # EarthWalk project to help women cultivate and grow ‘rural for all’.

The director for Actionaid Nigeria, Ene Obi, represented by the Director of Resource Mobilization and Innovation, stated that the majority of the impacts of climate change were borne by female farmers.

Referring to the essence of the # EarthWalk Campaign Obi, which was represented by director of resource, mobilisation and innovation Andrew Mamedu, AAN, he said: ‘Symbolically, we are leveraging the #EarthWalk Campaign to amplify the call for rebuilding the broken global food system using the bottom-up approach.
