Don’t expect the Las Vegas Valley to experience a lot of sun as 2021 draws to a close.
The lower San Diego River in Mission Valley will rise to 7 to 9 feet, probably leading to road crossings being temporarily closed.
According to the National Weather Service, all snowfall forecasts may be “premature,”
A winter weather warning will remain in effect until early Thursday at 9am with between 2 to 4 centimeters of snow expected in the late afternoon.
Still, there is plenty in the air with the snow, which is being bumped off the California coast, before coming down, the storm that could bring it to the Kingdom.
As of early Wednesday, San Diego International Airport had registered 2.31 inches of rain for the month, more than a half inch higher than average.
When the storm impacts the north it is likely to draw in hotter air, which could then turn the first snow fueled cyclone into one with a mix of rain and sleet.
A flash flood watch has been put in place between the coast and the inland valleys until 4pm on Thursday.
