The California Department of Transportation said Highway 1, which runs from Andrew Molna State Park across the Granite Canyon Bridge, was closed Saturday because of the fire.

Though most winds stopped early Saturday morning, light winds of 5 to 10 kph are being expected throughout the weekend, the NWS said.

The fire is seen from Santa Cruz County, despite being located around 70 miles away in Monterey County, CalFire said.
