Thousands of Australians are at risk from their lives and their homes as two bushfires rage through Western Australia.
An emergency alert has been put on for people in suburbs in Sydney’s south-east town of Gosnells, near Canning Mills Road, Suneca Road and Versteeg Grove near Korung National Park.
As it moves slowly, the fire is not checked or contained.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) said the fire was now extinguished but that the warning had been upheld due to the winds exerting pressure on the containment lines.
A separate fire area is in southwestern WA subject to the state emergency alert for people in an area restricted by Ravenscliffe Rd on the south and east and Upper Capel Rd on the north near Kirup.
