President Biden urges action on climate change and better infrastructure to address it.
The president said scientists realized that the country was facing a ‘code red’ from climate change and the crisis represented an ‘existential threat to our lives.’ as well.
Biden met with local government representatives in Queens and toured flood damage in the morning in Manville, New Jersey.
‘We can stop it from getting worse,’ Biden said, noting that his infrastructure spending would cover problems caused by the storm including paying for ‘flood-proof power stations’ and ‘underground electrical lines.’.
