Alphabet Inc.: Google is banning advertising and ending funding for media outlets that defy the scientific consensus on climate change – another move by the internet giant aimed at eradicating the pollution it has fueled for years.

That includes online content labelling climate change a hoax, suggesting that global warming is rising and human activity is exacerbating the problem, Google said in a post.

The behemoth social network, Facebook, Google’s biggest challenger to the digital ad market, advertises on its platform moves to control misinformation, but has no such advertising ban.
