Firefighters extinguished a fast-moving vegetation blaze about an inch from at least one house in the eastern suburbs of San Jose on Monday afternoon.
Jesse Allread told ABC7 News.SJFD, Cal Fire and other authorities in the South Bay were responding to a fire that was lit along Sierra Road in San Jose’s East Foothills.
That means firemen would be focusing on extinguishing the smaller fires in the area, to stop them from spreading to a bigger one.
Structures are under threat, but none was destroyed in the fire, either.
At least 10 houses were evacuated; there were no injuries.
The cause of the fire has initially been unclear.

An exterior fire that extended into the attic of a two story single family residence was quickly knocked down by fire crews on Warmwood Ln. Windy conditions fueled the spread of the fire and power lines were down creating a difficult environment for firefighters. No injuries. pic.twitter.com/qfbU1WvYPZ
