More than one world leader says human history’s future, including life, hangs in the balance as world leaders meet in Scotland to try to speed up efforts to tackle climate change.
“The overarching ambition that we’ve got is that we want to be able to say, with credibility, coming out of Glasgow, that we have kept 1.5 within reach,” COP26’s president Alok Sharma told journalists last week.
The wealthy countries should provide $100 billion annually in aid to the poor countries.

The hope is for world leaders to be persuaded to do more by each other, while ensuring that poorer nations fighting climate change get the financial assistance they need.
