More than 1.000 people have been evacuated from their houses after the uncontrolled fire in the hills overlooking the Spanish resort of Estepona killed 1,000 firefighter on Friday.

The fire has destroyed 3.600 hectares (3.062 acres) of forest above Estepona, a Spanish resort popular with British vacationers and foreign nationals.
The fire, in a mountain range in malaga province, erupted late Wednesday, and was fueled by strong winds changing directions.
Twenty-nine aircraft and helicopters have been deployed to try to put out the fire, along with 400 firefighters.
Witnesses said large, black clouds of smoke rose up from the woods and swept toward the village of Las Abejeras, which had been evacuated Wednesday night.
A spokesman for Malaga’s central government, Javier Salas, told Spanish newspaper El Pais: ‘The fact the fire started in two different places makes you think it could be deliberate.’
A 44-year-old firefighter died in an attempt to put the blaze out on Thursday.
