Australia’s prime minister has been the target of a savage smear campaign in the United States over Australia’s global underperformance in climate change in a popular CNN news show.
A billboard in New York’s Times Square aired messages highlighting Australia’s environmental policies after a comedian crowdfundraising for enough money to buy it for 10 minutes.
Discussing the now viral poster campaign, Mr Inglis told Yahoo News Australia: ‘The idea was to tell the international community that hey, Australians aren’t with the Australian government.
Australian comedian Dan Ilic has used the occasion to highlight the Federal Government’s controversial environment policy as Prime Minister Scott Morrison heads to Glasgow next month for next month’s State of the Union summit on climate change.
‘This is what we have to do is this country. We have to drag our leaders to lead us,’ he lamented to CNN.
