The storm, which continues to circulate through the Bay Area, prompted the National Weather Service to issue the following flood alerts late Monday for Monterey and San Benito counties.
But it’s not looking like there will be major flooding in and around the Fashion Valley mall in Mission Valley, which is expected to be busily stocked with Christmas shoppers.
An earlier storm surge warning for the Carmel, River, and Willow fire areas is set to expire again in other parts of Monterey County by 1 a.m.
“Rainfall rates west of the mountains could reach 0.50-0.60 inch per hour Tuesday,” the meteorological service said.
Both will apply till 3am on Tuesday.
