Heavy rainfall, high winds and potential flooding could hit Surrey on Wednesday 20 October, the Met Office warned.
Annie Shuttleworth, a Met Office meteorologist, told the Morning Sun: ‘On Wednesday night we will see a front move south through the UK, and that could bring with it some snow.
“A brief period of heavy rain, thunderstorms and very gusty winds may cause some disruption on Wednesday morning,” the Met Office said, adding a list of possible effects of the weather:
The Met Office’s long term weather forecast said temperatures would probably drop the next week.
‘In the future, we project that the UK will see warmer and wetter winters, hotter and drier summers, more frequent and intense weather extremes,’ a passage on the Met Office’ s climate website said.
The forecast also predicts snow for parts of northern England including the Pennines and potentially the Yorkshire Dales.
There is a slight chance that trees are damaged by high and gusty winds,
In Cairngorms, Scotland, up to a foot and a half of snow may fall on Thursday, according to WXMZ.
