The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report released today says that the opportunity to provide cost effective reductions in global emissions has increased dramatically since the panel last evaluated it in 2014.
But the need for action has become much more pressing.
The report sees that the world made progress in reducing emissions over the last ten years.

According to the IPCC report, some 70% of world greenhouse gas emissions are caused in towns and urban areas.
Especially high-income countries missed their goal of mobilizing 100bn USD (100 billion euros) a year by 2020.
