The official added that tourists were prohibited from entering the mountain terminal for the next two days.
Roughly 1.000 cars got stuck in Murree as authorities launched a major rescue from the stranded people, with local residents providing food and blankets to help them fight the cold.

Rescuers said nine people had been killed and ten others injured on Friday and Saturday in North-Western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Eleven people also died, and dozens were wounded, in heavy rains in Punjab and Baluchistan provinces.
