PM approves policies on climate change, wildlife

Minister-president Imran Khan has adopted National Climate Policy 2021 and National Wildlife Policy 2021 to make environmental issues matters a prominent issue.

The Prime Minister ordered a think tank to be set up to coordinate efforts between different government departments and to find solutions for climate change.

The Prime Minister said Pakistan has solidified its credibility as a green champion through its $10bn tree programme.

He agreed to declare a special zone in the Margalla Hills as a leopard sanctuary

The prime minister also authorized the creation of a wildlife information centre at Marghazar Zoo in Islamabad.

The PM said that the government of his party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had taken the initiative to declare the tsunami “billion billion per cent over so that in the next few days the whole world will follow in our footsteps.”
