The German Government has announced its intention to end the “climate wars” and is committed to taking action by setting ambitious emissions reduction goals.

Australia’s longest knighthood-winning former fire commissioner, Greg Mullins, predicts the Morrison government will raise its 2030 emissions reducing target in coming years because Labor is prepared to consult experts.

Mr Mullins, of Emergency Leaders for Climate Action spoke about a “climate election”

The Labour government has set a target of 43% by 2030.

Climate change and energy Minister Chris Bowen held his first press conference after being sworn in as former NSW Fire Commissioner Greg Mullins, one of the former head of emergency management working to tackle climate change.

Mullins said Australia’s standing had “restored instantaneously” following the election of a new government with more ambitious climate commitments.
