As night fell on Colorado Springs, some 112.6 miles south of the nation’s capital Denver, dozens of fire crews from all over the region responded to the bushfires and “won,” according to Denver CBS4 News.
A woman is dead after fire tore across a home-care RV park in Colorado Springs on Thursday.
Firefighters who responded to the scene were captured by flames that shot 50 feet higher.
A protection ordinance was issued at the Colorado Springs Airport on Thursday while a neighbouring Alturas fire was burning nearby.
The Colorado Springs Fire Department has declared the fire 100 percent contained and had scorched 30 acres.
There were no reports of injuries and the officers did not identify the cause of the incident.
Cascade Ave., the fire spread at high winds with gusts up to 53 miles per hour, the National Weather Service in Pueblo says.
Teller County’s High Green Park Fire was 0 percent under control and had expanded to nearly 400 acres, the sheriff’s office said.
